Kalsi — brisk. “Hat for all weathers and wind forces,” says the pattern. Védís Jónsdóttir’s hat from Ístex’s Lopi 42 is knitted in Álafosslopi: a deep amber rib folded double over the ears, and a midnight blue and amber pattern up to the crown.

How it is knitted
Knitted in the round from the brim up: cast on in amber on 5 mm needles and knit 10 cm of 1×1 rib, which is folded in half at the end for a double brim. Then the two-colour pattern in midnight blue and amber from the chart on 6 mm needles, with the crown decreases worked into the chart.
