Héla Grey Wool Cardigan Knitting Kit

Héla is a short wool cardigan with a zipper at front. This wool Cardigan is a traditional take on a classic Icelandic design, with its short and fitted shape and convenient zip closure. Body and sleeves are worked in the round from lower edge to underarm, then joined and yoke is worked in the round over entire cardigan. Pattern and decreases are worked from chart. The front is cut open.

This knitting kit includes all material needed to make your own traditional Icelandic sweater made of Álafoss lopi, designed by Védís Jónsdóttir.
Includes: Pattern, Knitting needles*, yarn needed to make the largest sweater.
Not included: Zipper

Many of our customers knit their first lopapeysa from one of these kits. Choose a one-colour or simple-yoke design to start, and warm up with our free patterns. Stuck mid-project? Write to us — we knit these ourselves.

What exactly is in the box?

The knitting pattern and the genuine Ístex lopi yarn for the design. On most kits you can add needles as an option at no fuss.

Which yarn do the kits use?

Most use Léttlopi — the classic lopapeysa yarn — while some designs call for Álafoss Lopi, Plötulopi or Einband. Each kit page says which.

Do US orders pay customs on delivery?
