Gos — Knitting Kit

Gos (“Eruption”) channels the energy of Iceland’s volcanic landscape into a statement cardigan. Worked with two strands of Plötulopi (unspun Icelandic wool) for a light‑to‑wear yet warm fabric, the design pairs clean lines with vivid blocks of color. Sleeves are knit circularly for comfort and durability, while the back and fronts are worked flat in intarsia for crisp color transitions. Seed‑stitch bands frame the edges, and generous snap fasteners give a sleek, minimal closure. The result is a contemporary Icelandic layer that’s easy to wear and satisfying to make.

What’s in the kit
The yarn included in the kit is enough to make the largest size of the cardigan. Knitting pins are optional and included only if you choose the ‘With needles’ variant. Kit yarns follow the original palette below. Pattern format: PDF.

Gauge
Plötulopi 2‑ply: 14 sts × 19 rows = 10 × 10 cm in stockinette on 5.5 mm needles (adjust needle size to obtain gauge).

Construction
Wind two strands of Plötulopi together with a slight twist into small balls. Sleeves are knitted in the round; back and fronts are worked flat in stockinette using intarsia (link strands when changing colors). Seed‑stitch edges are worked for bands; short‑row shaping at the back refines the neckline. Finish by sewing bands, seaming as indicated, and attaching snap fasteners. Rinse gently and dry flat to measurements.
