Excellent product & plenty of yarn to complete the XL size for my husband. I used my own 40cm & 60cm circulars & it was fine; I tend to need smaller needles so I didn’t purchase the kit with needles. This was my first steeking project, but I’m an experienced knitter. The process went fairly smoothly; customer service responded promptly to my questions. I wish there had been video links showing some of the techniques unique to this project- I found some on YouTube, but decided to get a lesson at my LYS for the final sewing & cutting. Already thinking of making this for me in different colors!

Positive experience - the kit arrived promptly, t used DHL. My first knitting kit. The colors are exactly as shown, I am halfway through knitting the sweater, there appears to be adequate wool to complete the project in fact I should have enough to add a hood to the sweater. Suggest you add a 80cm size 6mm needle. I had one so I was ok.

The site was great and I ordered a Fugl sweater kit. Couldn’t wait to get it and did regular airmail shipping that cost $25 (US). It took over a month to arrive!! It seemed to get lost for 3 weeks and wasn’t trackable. So I contacted company and asked about shipping and they recommended use DHL for $29 that only takes 3-4 days. So two other people wanted to order kits and we paid the extra shipping and thought we would get them in 3-4 days however one of the colors was out of stock (1 of 10 of balls). So it again took nearly a month to arrive. We ordered the needles on the second kits and they are lovely quality Addi needles. So bottom line is lovely yarn and products but a few technical issues. However even with the hassle I would order again. Also make sure to specify Zipper length when you order or they will need to send later at expensive shipping rates.

Many of our customers knit their first lopapeysa from one of these kits. Choose a one-colour or simple-yoke design to start, and warm up with our free patterns. Stuck mid-project? Write to us — we knit these ourselves.

What exactly is in the box?

The knitting pattern and the genuine Ístex lopi yarn for the design. On most kits you can add needles as an option at no fuss.

Which yarn do the kits use?

Most use Léttlopi — the classic lopapeysa yarn — while some designs call for Álafoss Lopi, Plötulopi or Einband. Each kit page says which.

Do US orders pay customs on delivery?

No — duties and taxes are settled at checkout, so nothing is due when the parcel arrives. No customs bills, no courier fees.
