Draumabitar are pieces of Freyju lakkrís, Freyja's own liquorice, each coated in milk chocolate (min. 35% cocoa solids). Where a Draumur bar is chocolate with liquorice inside, here the liquorice is the bite. The 250 g bag is made for a bowl.

Made by Freyja in Kópavogur, Iceland's oldest working sweet maker, founded in 1918. This is the regular Draumabitar, not Freyja's Sterkir (strong) version.

One bag or 10. Contains milk, wheat (gluten) and liquorice; may contain traces of tree nuts. Store dry and cool.

How is it different from a Draumur bar?

Draumur, launched by Freyja in 1984, is milk chocolate with Freyju lakkrís inside. Draumabitar start from the liquorice: pieces of Freyju lakkrís, each coated in milk chocolate, loose in a 250 g bag.

Is this the strong version?

No. Freyja also makes Sterkir Draumabitar, with a salty-liquorice filling. This bag is the regular Draumabitar.

Does it contain gluten or nuts?

It contains wheat flour and milk. Freyja's statement is that it may contain traces of tree nuts.

Will the chocolate melt on the way?

The chocolate coat can soften in warm months. We do not refund melted chocolate unless you add Shipping protection in the cart (terms of service, sections 9 and 10). Keep the bag dry and cool, 15–20 °C, Freyja advises.

Will I pay duties or customs on delivery?

Not in the US or Canada — duties and taxes are settled at checkout, so nothing is owed at the door. For other destinations, any local import charges are collected by the courier on delivery.
