How it is knitted
Knitted in single-ply Einband. The body is cast on loosely in black, knitted back and forth for three garter ridges, then joined and knitted in the round to the underarm, with two stitches decreased at each side six times so the dress narrows from hem to chest. The sleeves start with a yellow lace cuff from a chart on 5 mm needles, worked for 8 cm, then change to black on 4 mm with a garter ridge and a small chart band. Body and sleeves are joined and the yoke is knitted in the round from a five-colour chart with decreases, from 288–342 stitches down to 96–114; the neckline is three garter ridges, bound off loosely.
