Which size should I knit?
There are four adult sizes, S, M, L and XL, with a chest of 89, 98, 106.5 and 114.5 cm (35, 38½, 42 and 45″) all round. Choose the one closest to a sweater that fits you, then follow either the women’s or the men’s lengths.
What is the difference between the women’s and men’s versions?
The men’s version is longer in the body and sleeves — in size M, for example, 43 cm to the underarm against 39.5 cm for women — and the men’s sleeves have more stitches, so the yoke begins with more stitches. Two rounds at the start of the yoke chart are skipped in the women’s sizes.
Will I have yarn left over?
The kit holds the XL amounts: 9 balls of grey heather and 3 of white. Sizes S and M use 7 grey and 2 white, size L uses 8 grey and 3 white. The pattern’s third colour — 1 ball for S, 2 for M to XL — is shared between the royal fuchsia and the pink heather, one ball of each.
What does the kit with needles include?
4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles in 40 and 80 cm, 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles in 40 and 80 cm, and 4.5 mm and 3.5 mm double-pointed needles — ADDI, the sizes the pattern names.
Can I knit it for a child?
The pattern also has two children’s sizes, 8–10 and 10–12 years (chest 80 and 89 cm), with a smaller yoke chart of their own. The kit is packed with the yarn amounts for the adult sizes.
