Description

Cecilia is a long women’s Léttlopi sweater by Tove Richter — a design born from playing with colour: she knitted it in three colourways to begin with, and more have followed. This is the Grey version: light ash heather with the pattern in air blue, fjord blue and navy, and a touch of apricot. Léttlopi is breathable, water-repellent and hard-wearing, comfortable indoors and out. Tove Richter is a Norwegian designer who knits almost exclusively with Icelandic wool.

Which size should I knit?

There are nine sizes, 2XS to 4XL, with a chest of 84, 89, 93, 98, 102, 107, 116, 124 and 133 cm all round (33–52¼″). The body is 37–47 cm long to the underarm and the sleeves 45–51 cm, or the length you prefer.

Which neckline should I knit?

The original is low and wide, with 2 cm of k2, p2 rib. The pattern also gives a semi-high neck of 6 cm and a high neck of 16 cm folded double. Each one ends with a garter ridge in fjord blue.

Will I have yarn left over?

The kit holds the 4XL amounts: 11 balls of 0054 light ash heather, 3 of 1700 air blue, 2 each of 1701 fjord blue and 9420 navy blue, and 1 of 1704 apricot. The contrast colours are the same in every size; light ash takes 6 balls for 2XS and XS, 7 for S and M, 8 for L and XL, and 9 for 2XL and 3XL.

How is it knitted?

From the bottom up in the round. Body and sleeves start with a garter ridge in fjord blue and 4 cm of rib in air blue, then a patterned band, then plain light ash. After joining, the yoke is knitted from a chart that uses up to four colours at the same time.

What does the kit with needles include?

ADDI needles in the sizes the pattern names: 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles in 40, 60 and 80 cm, a 3.5 mm (US 4) 80 cm circular needle, and 3.5 mm and 4.5 mm double-pointed needles. The four stitch markers and tapestry needle are not included.
