Bullfinch Icelandic Christmas sweater — your questions, answered

Which size should I knit?
Five sizes: 2XS/XS, S/M, L/XL, 2XL and 3XL, with a chest of 82, 93, 104, 116 and 124 cm (32¼ to 48¾″) all round. Pick the one nearest a sweater that fits you. The body is 43 to 46 cm to the underarm and the sleeves 46 to 50 cm, or the length you want.
How many colours are knitted at once?
Six rounds of the yoke chart — the bullfinches — are knitted with five colours at the same time, four in places. The pattern asks you to keep enough yarn at the back so the knitting does not pull tight.
How is the neck shaped and finished?
German short rows across the back, at the top of the body and again at the start of the yoke, bring the front of the neck lower than the back. The neck ends with 5 rounds of moss stitch in white and 3 rounds of stocking stitch, bound off loosely.
Will I have yarn left over?
The kit holds the 3XL amounts: 10 crimson red and 3 white. Size 2XS/XS uses 6 red and 2 white, S/M 7 red, L/XL 8 and 2XL 9, with 2 white up to 2XL. One ball each of pine green, black heather and ash covers every size.
What does the kit with needles include?
ADDI 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles in 40, 60 and 80 cm, a 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needle in 80 cm, and 3.5 mm and 4.5 mm double-pointed needles — the sizes the pattern names.
Is there anything else I need?
Four stitch markers — the pattern suggests one in a different colour for the start of the round — and a tapestry needle. They are not in the kit.
