What is the frost rose?

A star-shaped flower motif named after the ice flowers that form on a cold window pane (frostrós in Icelandic). On this scarf it sits inside a diamond lattice in grey and beige, with bands of dark red and black between, repeated along the length.

How does it feel?

Fluffy and light. Garðaprjón brushes the knit so the fibres stand up in a soft halo, and that halo is what touches your neck rather than the knit underneath. Icelandic wool is springy and warm for its weight, so a narrow scarf like this does more than its size suggests.

How do I wear it?
