Good to know

Borg mín borg — your questions, answered

Which size should I knit?
Four sizes, S to XL — a chest of 89 to 116 cm, 39 to 46 cm from hem to underarm and sleeves of 46 to 53 cm. The pattern names no gender; both models are men.
Will I have yarn left over?
The kit holds the amount for XL: 8 balls of moor, 5 of light beige and 3 each of ash and murky — 19 balls. Size S uses 14.
Which zip do I need?
The pattern just says “Zipper”. Our reading: an open-ended (separating) zip, because the rib is open at the front and the front is cut open all the way up. The pattern gives no length and says to measure the finished cardigan. The zip is not included.
Do I have to cut my knitting?
Yes. Two purl stitches run up the centre front. You sew two rows of small straight stitches through each by machine, then cut between them and sew in the zip.
Which photos show this colourway?
The man on the street with timber houses behind him — the brown and green version, zipped and open. The black and grey version is also sold as a kit.
What does the kit with needles include?
A 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needle in 80 cm; 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles in 40 and 80 cm; 3.5 mm and 4.5 mm double-pointed needles — ADDI, as named in the pattern. The zip is not included.
