How it is knitted
The body is knitted in the round from 8 cm of 1×1 rib on 3.5 mm needles, then in stocking stitch on 4 mm in broad stripes — 24–26 rounds of each colour in turn — with increases at both sides every 8th round, and faster near the top, so the body widens into the sleeves. Front and back are then knitted separately back and forth for 13–15 cm and the shoulders are grafted. Stitches are picked up around each armhole for 12 cm of 1×1 rib, and the neckband is 4 cm of 1×1 rib.
