Beta — a regal collar with warm ruffles. “Why not?” asks the pattern. Védís Jónsdóttir’s collar from Ístex’s Lopi 41 is black Léttlopi patterned with white Einband, with a white ruffle along the lower edge and another at the neck — one ball of each.

18 sts × 24 rows = 10 cm (4″) in stocking stitch on 4.5 mm needles.

How it is knitted
Knitted in the round from the lower edge up. It starts with 384 (400) stitches of white Einband for the ruffle, halved in one decrease round; then black Léttlopi with two strands of white Einband in a pattern from the chart, decreasing to 72 (75) stitches. Short rows raise the back, the neckband is 3 cm of rib, and a second small Einband ruffle — three stitches from every one — finishes the top. Rinse it and lay it flat, puckering the ruffles.
