T — your questions, answered

Which size should I knit?
Six sizes — 4, 6, 8, 10, 11 and 12 — with a chest of 69, 74, 78, 83, 88 and 92 cm, 25 to 38 cm from the hem to the underarm, and sleeves of 28 to 41 cm to the underarm. The pattern prints the sizes without a unit, so go by the chest measurement.
How much yarn do I need?
Álafosslopi in 100 g balls: indigo blue (A, 9959) 2 (3, 3, 3, 3, 4), light denim (B, 0008) 2 (2, 2, 2, 2, 3) and white (C, 0051) 1 in every size — 5 balls in size 4, 6 in sizes 6 to 11 and 8 in size 12.
Can I still buy the colours in the photo?
Yes, all three are still made. Go by the colour numbers: in our shop 9959 is called Indigo, 0008 Light Denim Heather and 0051 White.
Anything to watch for?
The zigzag band repeats over 4 stitches. The pattern warns that it does not fit the sleeves in sizes 4, 8 and 10; it does not fit the body in sizes 4, 8 and 11 either (90, 102 and 114 stitches), so the zigzag will not meet exactly where the round starts (our check). In round 21 of the yoke chart, the “12” among the sizes that skip the round is most likely a misprint for 11 (our reading). In sizes 11 and 12 the body holds 9 underarm stitches and each sleeve 8, so you graft 9 stitches to 8. The colour of the stocking stitch between the hem rib and the first zigzag is not repeated in the text; it stays light denim, as in the photo.
