Landmannalaugar - Icelandic handmade chocolate

Dark and caramel chocolate topped with almonds and cashews marinated in a spice mix — chilli, ginger, wildflower honey, sesame, lemon zest, sea salt — plus soft dates with a dusting of liquorice powder, and coconut. It's the boldest bar of the set: sweet chocolate first, then nutty crunch, then a slow, gentle heat that builds. Not hot, just warm.

Made by Anna Marta, an artisan chocolate maker in Iceland, in a series named after Icelandic landscapes. Landmannalaugar is the rhyolite-and-hot-spring valley in the highlands — colourful, warm, a bit wild — which suits.
