According to Icelandic folklore, unless you get a new piece of clothing for Christmas, the Yule Cat will eat you—so make sure your pup gets a new sweater and naps peacefully on the Jólaskjól tree skirt.

Knitting needles & notions
4.5 mm (US 7) circular needle 40 cm; 3.5 mm (US 4) and 4.5 mm double pointed needles.
Gauge
18 sts and 24 rows = 10 × 10 cm in St st using 4.5 mm needles. Check gauge and adjust needle size if necessary.
Construction
Lower back is worked flat in rib, then body is joined and worked in the round. Sleeves worked in the round in seed stitch cuffs, then body and sleeves are joined for the yoke with shaping; seed-stitch neckband finishes.
