What's in the kit
Bite-size milk-chocolate "bombs" with a soft, airy liquorice-marshmallow centre. The shell gives a light crack, then the middle is more chew than bite — mellow cocoa first, then that clean, slightly salty black-liquorice note Icelanders are raised on. Because the centre is marshmallow-light rather than dense, they stay easy to keep eating.
These are Freyja's Lakkrís bombur ("liquorice bombs"), from Reykjavík's Freyja, making sweets since 1918. If you like Icelandic liquorice but want the chocolate to soften the edges, this is your bag.
