Fern Flower is a free yoke sweater knitting pattern in Léttlopi by Olga Lipnickaya: pink heather, with green fern fronds climbing a white yoke above a ring of red fern flowers, and a folded green collar. The name comes from old Slavic myths: the fern flower appears only for a short time and brings luck to whoever finds it.

About the Fern Flower sweater pattern

Sizes XS/S (M, L/XL): chest 89 (98, 107) cm all the way round.
Yarn: Léttlopi, 50 g balls. 1412 pink heather 7 (8, 9), 0051 white 3, 1406 spring green heather 1, 1408 light red heather 1.
Needles: 4½ mm and 4 mm circulars and double-pointed needles. Gauge 18 stitches to 10 cm.

Body and sleeves start with K2, P2 rib and a white zigzag band (chart 1), then carry on in pink to the underarms. The yoke chart has 52 rounds; sizes XS/S and M leave out a few rounds marked “slip rnd”. The collar is green K1, P1 rib, folded inside and sewn down.

Light red heather (1408) is no longer made by Ístex. And the chart key is misprinted: it shows 1406 as red and 1408 as green. The materials list is right: 1406 is the green (also the collar) and 1408 the red of the flowers.
