Alexander — Knitting pattern

Alexander is a round‑yoke Icelandic sweater that combines bold stranded patterns with the timeless warmth of Léttlopi wool. Worked seamlessly from the lower edge to the collar, the body and sleeves meet at the yoke for a smooth finish. Short‑row shaping at the back neck adds comfort, and the front collar opening is finished with two buttons for ease. This versatile design comes in two striking color palettes and a full size range from XS to 3XL.

Knitting needles & notions
- 3.5 mm circular needles, 40 & 80 cm
- 4.5 mm circular needles, 40 & 80 cm
- 3.5 mm double‑pointed needles
- 4.5 mm double‑pointed needles
- 2 small buttons
Gauge
18 sts and 24 rows = 10 × 10 cm in St st using 4.5 mm needles.
Check gauge and adjust needle size if necessary.
Construction
Body and sleeves are worked in the round from the lower edge to the underarms, then joined to work the yoke in the round. Short rows shape the back neck for comfort. The front collar has a short slit with button loops for closure. All ribbing is worked in 2×2 rib for a classic finish.
