Description

Alexander — “an army of stitches joined in stories from far, far away.” A modern Léttlopi pullover in black heather with an oatmeal patterned yoke, a matching pattern band on one sleeve, and a tall ribbed collar with a small buttoned slit at the shoulder. Knitted in the round from the bottom up, in seven sizes from XS to 3XL.

Which size should I knit?

Seven sizes, XS to 3XL, with a chest of 93, 98, 102, 107, 111, 116 and 120 cm all round. The body is 40 to 46 cm to the underarm and the sleeve 48 to 54 cm.

Will I have yarn left over?

The kit holds the 3XL amount: 12 balls of black heather and 3 of oatmeal. XS and S use 9 black heather, M and L 10, XL and 2XL 11; XS to L use 2 oatmeal.

Why does only one sleeve have a pattern?

That is how the Black version is designed: the right sleeve is knitted with the band from chart 1, and on the left sleeve you knit 17 plain rounds instead. The grey-green version of the same pattern has the band on both sleeves.

How is the collar slit made?

After 3 cm of 2×2 rib in the round, you turn and work the rib back and forth from a point at the front left, roughly above where sleeve and body meet, until the collar is 9 cm. Two small button loops close it. The 2 buttons are not in the kit.

Are there short rows?

Yes, a few across the back of the neck after the yoke chart, before the collar. The pattern shows how to wrap the next stitch at each turn so no gap forms.

What does the kit with needles include?

4.5 mm (US 7) and 3.5 mm (US 4) circular needles, each in 40 and 80 cm, and 3.5 mm and 4.5 mm double-pointed needles — ADDI, the sizes the pattern names.
