- Ístex 25 years, April — Katarina Segerbrand
- Sizes S–XL · chest 93–117 cm
Warm dream is Katarina Segerbrand’s long, loose pullover from Ístex’s 25-year pattern collection — the April pattern — knitted in light ash with a single strand of Plötulopi on 7 mm needles, or in Léttlopi. It is knitted in pieces, back and forth: a lace panel runs up the middle of the front and of each sleeve, the back is plain, and the cuffs are finished with crochet instead of rib. The same leaflet has a matching lace neckwarmer, about 70 × 43 cm. Sizes S to XL.

The neckwarmer is one size, about 70 × 43 cm (27½″ × 17″).
Gauge
12 sts × 18 rows = 10 cm (4″) in stocking stitch on 7 mm needles, with a single strand of Plötulopi. The same for the neckwarmer.
Needles
7 mm (US 10½) circular needle, 60 cm — the pieces are knitted back and forth on it
For Léttlopi the pattern says to use needles that give the same gauge, but the size was left blank (“xxmm needles”); for the neckwarmer in Léttlopi it says the same 7 mm needle
You will also need
A 4.5 mm crochet hook for the sleeve edges and for joining the neckwarmer, and Einband 1026 light ash or another fine yarn for sewing up (both in the pattern’s list — it gives no amount of Einband), plus a tapestry needle for the seams and a damp cloth for drying the pieces flat.
How it is knitted
Every piece is knitted back and forth with a single strand, and the first and last stitch of every row are knitted. The lace is one row, worked on every row: knit 2, then yarn over, knit 3 together, yarn over, knit 3, repeated, and knit 2. The front is cast on with 70 (74, 78, 84) stitches: 4 rows of K1, P1 rib on both sides of a 28-stitch lace panel, which runs all the way up to the neck; the rest is stocking stitch. It is decreased by 4 stitches three times — at both side edges and on both sides of the panel — to 58 (62, 66, 72), shaped at the armholes from 47 (48, 49, 50) cm and at the neck from 60 (62, 64, 66) cm, and bound off at 66 (68, 70, 72) cm. The back is knitted the same way without the lace — those stitches are stocking stitch too — and has a shallower neck. The sleeves are cast on with 24 (24, 26, 28) stitches, with a 22-stitch lace panel in the middle, increased to 44 (46, 48, 50) and shaped into a cap. The pieces are laid on a damp cloth to dry and sewn together with Einband; 84 stitches are picked up round the neck for 2 cm of K1, P1 rib; and the cuffs get a row of single crochet and a row of reverse single crochet. The neckwarmer is 52 stitches of the same lace, knitted to 70 cm, folded, and crocheted together at the ends.
