Sátt is a round-yoke sweater from Ístex’s Lopi 29, designed by Védís Jónsdóttir and knitted in Plötulopi with two strands wound together. At the base of the yoke the body colour breaks up into a jagged band of scattered stitches; above it the lighter yoke colour is decreased along four raglan lines up to a ribbed neckband. Two colour versions — black-blue (black, arctic blue and faded denim) and green (spruce green, black and clover green) — in sizes S to XXL. Faded denim (1053) is no longer made. Our kits for this pattern are called Viðar.

How it is knitted
Plötulopi is knitted double: two strands wound softly together from the plates for each colour. Body and sleeves are knitted in the round from the bottom up, starting with 4 cm of K1, P1 rib in the main colour on 4.5 mm, with 6 stitches (body) or 4 stitches (sleeves) increased evenly in its last round, then plain stocking stitch on 5.5 mm; the sleeves are then increased 1 stitch after the first and 1 before the last stitch of the round every 14th (12th, 12th, 11th, 11th) round, 5 (6, 6, 7, 7) times, to 50 (52, 54, 58, 60) stitches. Body and sleeves are joined at 200 (208, 216, 232, 240) stitches and 12 (12, 13, 14, 14) plain rounds are knitted. Then comes the 12-round chart, with two decrease rounds, to 150 (156, 162, 174, 180) stitches. The rest of the yoke is in colour C: it is divided into four with markers — two sleeves, front and back — and decreased like a raglan, 8 stitches every other round, 8 (8, 9, 10, 10) times, with short rows at the back. The neckband is 5 cm of K1, P1 rib on 4.5 mm, bound off loosely, and the underarms are grafted.
