The NOX Christmas Ornament 2024 – Whimbrel is part of the Jólaórói series, where each year highlights a different Icelandic animal. For 2024 the spotlight is on the whimbrel, a long-legged wader that spends summer in Icelandic moorlands. It is one of the birds that signals the arrival of spring when it returns from its wintering grounds in West Africa to nest in Iceland.
The ornament is made from metal plated in your choice of gold, silver or rosegold. This gives a refined metallic finish while keeping the piece light enough to hang on tree branches, wreaths or window hooks. The clean, contemporary silhouette works with modern minimalist décor as well as more traditional Christmas styling.
Each ornament comes with a black silk ribbon printed with the greeting “Gleðileg jól”.
