Nost is a raglan sweater in two colours of Léttlopi, from Ístex’s Lopi 27, designed by Védís Jónsdóttir. It is patterned all over with eight-petal roses — bands of black heather roses on ash alternate with ash roses on black heather, divided by checked rounds — and the pattern carries on up the raglan yoke. Body and sleeves are knitted in the round from K2, P2 ribs, joined, and decreased along four raglan lines, with short rows at the back and a ribbed neckband in ash. One colourway in sizes S to XL. Both colours are still made.

How it is knitted
Body and sleeves are knitted in the round from the bottom up, starting with 7 (8, 7, 8) cm of K2, P2 rib in ash on 3.5 mm. Then the eight-petal rose chart is knitted in stocking stitch on 4.5 mm and repeated — 75 (75, 83, 83) rounds on the body and 94 (94, 104, 104) on the sleeves, ending with 2 (2, 3, 3) rounds of plain colour after the last round of roses; sizes S and M leave out marked rounds. The body has no increases after the rib. On the sleeves 4 (6, 4, 6) stitches are increased evenly after the rib, then 1 stitch after the first and 1 before the last stitch of the round on every 8th (7th, 8th, 7th) round, 10 (11, 12, 13) times. Body and sleeves are joined at 252 (264, 284, 296) stitches with a marker at each join, and the pattern carries on up the raglan yoke: 8 stitches are decreased every other round, 21 (22, 23, 24) times, keeping 2 stitches each side of every marker in the background colour of the band. Short rows are then knitted at the back in black heather, with the raglan decreases worked twice more, to 68 (72, 84, 88) stitches. For the neckband you change to ash and 3.5 mm and knit one round — decreasing 8 stitches in sizes L and XL, to 76 and 80 — then 3 cm of K2, P2 rib, bound off in rib. The underarms are grafted.
