Knitting needles & notions
6 mm circular needles (40 & 80 cm); 4.5 mm circular needle (80 cm); 4.5 mm and 6 mm double pointed needles; 5 large snap fasteners.
Gauge
Álafosslopi: 13 sts and 18 rows = 10 × 10 cm in St st using 6 mm needles.
Álafosslopi and Léttlopi: 16 sts and 18 rows = 10 × 10 cm in stranded St st using 6 mm needles.
Check gauge and adjust needle size if necessary.
Construction
Worked in the round with steeks for the front and armholes; the openings are cut after securing the steek. Pattern areas combine Álafosslopi with a strand of Léttlopi for contrast; seed stitch trims finish the cardigan.
