Friður (“Peace”) is knit in the round from the very center, expanding with all‑over increase rounds into a striking stranded motif. The dense Álafosslopi fabric blocks into a sturdy, decorative rug that adds warmth and texture to floors or walls.

13 sts × 18 rows = 10 × 10 cm in stockinette on 6 mm needles.
Construction
Begin with a crochet circular cast‑on; work alternating knit/purl rounds as indicated and stranded sections from chart, increasing between phases to 256 sts before the main motif. Bind off loosely; wet‑finish and block flat to a circle.
