Flétta — Knitting pattern

Flétta is a bold, cozy Icelandic sweater that blends the airy lightness of unspun Plötulopi with the strength of Einband. Worked seamlessly from the hem upward, it features a textured moss‑stitch border and a striking cable panel that adds structure and visual depth. The fabric is warm yet surprisingly lightweight, and the simple construction makes it an approachable project with polished results. Choose between an earthy light‑brown palette or a deep red option; both knit up beautifully with the two‑strand Plötulopi plus one‑strand Einband held together.

Knitting needles
- 9 mm (US 13) circular needles — 40 & 80 cm
- 10 mm (US 15) circular needles — 40 & 80 cm
Gauge
9 sts × 15 rows = 10 × 10 cm in stockinette stitch on 10 mm needles.
Construction
Body and sleeves are worked in the round from the lower edge to the underarms, then joined to work the yoke in the round. Raglan shaping is worked with increases; short rows are used to shape the neckline. The garment is knitted with two strands of Plötulopi and one strand of Einband held together. Borders (hem, cuffs, collar) are in moss stitch; a cable panel runs on the body.
