Good to know

Your questions, answered

Are these made in Iceland?
They are designed in Iceland by us and our artist Ninna Þórarinsdóttir, and sold from our shop in Hafnarfjörður. ICD and Nordlings® are our own brands.
What are Nordlings?
A family of characters — puffins, Vikings, Valkyries, hidden folk and a lost tourist or two — that appear across the keychains, pins, plush toys and postcards. Each one is numbered, so people collect them.
Will adding a few of these raise my shipping cost?
Almost never. They are light and flat, so they ride along in the same parcel as a sweater, blanket or candy order. Shipping is free on orders over $149.
Do I pay customs on delivery in the United States?
No. U.S. duties are settled at checkout and nothing is collected at the door.
What is the best gift for a child?
The plush puffin, Viking or Valkyrie — those are the ones our customers buy for children. For a small stocking filler, a sticker sheet or a zipper puller.

Everything here is designed by us and made for us in Iceland — a family business in Hafnarfjörður. The Nordlings® characters are drawn by Icelandic artist Ninna Þórarinsdóttir: puffins, Vikings, hidden folk and the odd confused tourist. Most of it costs less than a coffee and a pastry in Reykjavík, which makes it the easy answer to “bring me something from Iceland.”

What makes a good souvenir from Iceland?

Something that gets used. The things our customers reorder are the ones that live on a keyring, a suitcase, a fridge door or a kitchen rail: luggage tags, tea towels, keychains, lapel pins and magnets. The plush puffins and Vikings are the ones that go to children. Postcards and stickers are the cheapest way to send a bit of Iceland to several people at once.

Because we make it ourselves, it is always in stock, and because it is light it adds almost nothing to shipping. It packs well next to Icelandic candy or a Spa of Iceland hand cream if you are putting a parcel together. Orders to the United States have duties settled at checkout, so there is nothing to pay on delivery, and shipping is free on orders over $149.
