This wonderfully illustrated book by Brian Pilkington with poems after Jóhannes úr Kötlum offers a unique insight into the legend and origins of Grýla and her 13 sons that in modern times give away toys and sweets to children 13 days before Christmas, but in the olden days they were a bit more mischievous.
