We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Shipping cost depends on package weight, shipping method, and destination. If you can't find your location in the shipping option send us a line an we may be able to fix that in little time.
Shipping cost: In the checkout process the cart is updated with shipping cost after you enter your address.
Genarelly we offer 3 choices of shipping your Icelandic products, not all of them may be an option depending on your location:
- DHL Worldwide Express : This option is for those who want their products delivered fast and safe. Shipping time is usually 2-4 working days after they are dispatched from our facilities. Regular updates while in transit.
- Priority Shipping: Estimated shipping time is 10-25 working days. No automated updates but fully traceable.
- Economy shipping by Icelandic Post: Reliable but not very fast. Shipping time 1-4 weeks (Europe) and 2-8 weeks (USA)
Estimated shipping prices for DHL:
USA and Europe: 1-5kg (2-10lbs) - $25
Rest of the world: 1-5kg (2-10lbs) - $35-45
Every kg adds approximately $5 to the shipping cost
You may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. This especially applies to the EU countries, Canada and Australia! Additional charges for customs clearance must be by buyer; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. EU residents can expect to pay VAT in their home countries.
Customs policies vary widely from country to country. You should contact your local customs office for further information. Additionally, when ordering from The Icelandic Store you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.
Please note.: Should you refuse delivery of a package because of import duties upon arrival the package will be sent back to us. You will be responsible for any cost involved.
Your privacy is important to us, and we know that you care about how information about your order is used and shared. We would like our international customers and customers shipping products internationally to be aware that cross-border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities.
Also, we may provide certain order, shipment and product information, such as brands and content, to our international carriers, and such information may be communicated by the carriers to customs authorities in order to facilitate customs clearance and comply with local laws.
If the order is a gift, the package is marked "Gift," but the cost of the item is still stated on the customs form. Customs authorities require us to state the value of the gift item directly on the package.
There are no additional fees, customs duties or taxes charged in Iceland for export. For products to be delivered in Iceland, a VAT of 24,0% will be added.
Packages are generally dispatched within 2 days after receipt of payment and are usually shipped via DHL Express with required signature. We will provide you with a link to track your package online.
Shipping fees include handling and packing fees as well as postage costs. Handling fees are fixed, whereas transport fees vary according to total weight of the shipment. We advise you to group your items in one order. We cannot group two distinct orders placed separately, and shipping fees will apply to each of them. Your package will be dispatched at your own risk, but special care is taken to protect fragile objects. Boxes are amply sized and your items are well-protected.
Return- and refund policy
We wante you to be satisfied with you purchases. If you wish to return an item, you may return it within 30 days after delivery for a refund or exchange. We will credit your original form of payment, excluding the shipping cost. Returns must be received in their original, unused condition, or they will not be accepted.
