Icelandic Yule Lad - Pot Licker
Pottasleikir or Pot Licker (16th Dec.) is the fifth Yule Lad to make his journey down from the mountains.
Once he spots a house, he heads straight to the kitchen, and when he is sure that no one is looking he proceeds to lap up all the leftover bits of food in the pots - leading everyone in the household to believe the pots are clean!

was a funny sort of chap.
When kids were given scrapings,
he'd come to the door and tap.
And they would rush to see
if there really was a guest.
Then he hurried to the pot
and had a scraping fest.

The 13 Yulelads are said to life in the mountains of Iceland and are sons of a terrifying ogress named Grýla and their father is Leppalúði.
