- GLUGGAGÆGIR in gold up the side of the ring
On 21 December the tenth Yule Lad, Gluggagægir, comes to town. In English he is the Window Peeper. The National Museum of Iceland says he was less greedy than his brothers: he liked to peep in at windows, and sometimes made off with the toys he saw.
On this hanging ornament, designed by Brian Pilkington, he crouches side-on in a red ring lettered GLUGGAGÆGIR and peers through a little wooden window frame. About 7.5 cm (3 in), hand-painted all the way round, boxed with a small booklet in English. A tree ornament rather than a plaything. All fourteen are in the set.
