It is white, with a round yoke of zigzag stripes in ash, heaven blue, lapis blue and glacier blue, twice over, and moss-stitch edges at the hem, over the shoulders and at the neck. It is knitted in the round from the hem up, with decreases and then increases at the sides, in sizes XS to XL. All five colours are still made. The body is cast on with 140 (148, 156, 164, 172) stitches in white on the 3.5 mm circular and knitted in moss stitch for 5 rounds, then in stocking stitch on 4.5 mm with a marker at each side. At 7 cm, and twice more 5 cm apart, 2 stitches are decreased at each marker (SSK, k2tog), to 128 (136, 144, 152, 160); then 2 stitches are increased at each marker with lifted increases after 5 cm, 5 cm more and 3 (4, 5, 6, 7) cm more, back to 140 (148, 156, 164, 172). The body goes on to 32 (34, 36, 38, 39) cm. For the yoke, 9 (10, 11, 12, 13) stitches are cast off under each arm, and on the next round 44 (45, 46, 47, 48) stitches are cast on over each shoulder; the shoulder stitches are worked in moss stitch while the front and back go on in stocking stitch, 3 rounds in all. 3 stitches are then increased over each shoulder, to 216 (224, 232, 240, 248), and the yoke is knitted from one chart with five decrease rounds, to 81 (84, 87, 90, 93) stitches. Sizes XS, S, M and L leave out marked rounds, so the chart is 33 (34, 36, 39, 40) rounds. For the neckband you knit 1 round on 3.5 mm, decreasing to 68 (70, 72, 74, 76) stitches, then 3 rounds of moss stitch, and bind off loosely in K1, P1 rib. The pattern’s finishing: weave in the ends, rinse by hand in lukewarm water and lay flat to dry.

Designer: Védís Jónsdóttir for istex.is — from Ístex’s single leaflet “Vormorgun Létt-Lopi vest”.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/Lettlopi_Spring_Morning_White_Sweater_Vest_KnittingKit_1_6bbe54d9-db14-487e-8c54-23479f16fcb5.jpg?v=1791035592
