Védís Jónsdóttir’s plain pullover from Ístex’s Lopi 25, knitted in Jöklalopi (sold here as Bulky Lopi) on 9 mm needles: stocking stitch with K1, P1 rib at the hem and cuffs, set-in sleeves, and a ribbed polo collar picked up round the neck. The pattern has two versions in sizes S, M and L — brown, in chocolate with the last rounds of the collar in carrot red, and blue, all in mountain blue, a tweed with red, blue and white flecks. Carrot red (1418) and mountain blue (1415) are no longer made; chocolate (0867) still is.

What you get

The knitting pattern in English (PDF), emailed right after purchase — nothing is posted

Two versions — brown with a carrot red collar tip, and blue

Sizes S, M and L

Yarn and needles are not included. The body is cast on with 92 (100, 108) stitches on the 8 mm circular for 5 cm of K1, P1 rib, then knitted in stocking stitch on 9 mm to 41 (42, 43) cm. There it is divided, 6 (6, 8) stitches are cast off at each side, and the back and front are knitted back and forth, with armhole decreases, stepped shoulders and a shaped front neck. The sleeves are cast on with 26 (26, 28) stitches on 8 mm double-pointed needles for 5 cm of rib, then knitted on 9 mm and increased one stitch at the start of every 4th round, 12 (14, 14) times, to 38 (40, 42) stitches; at 49 (50, 51) cm their tops are knitted back and forth into a shaped cap. The shoulders are seamed, and 40 (40, 42) stitches are picked up round the neck for a polo collar of K1, P1 rib on 8 mm needles — 8 rounds of chocolate and 3 of carrot red for the brown version, all 11 rounds in mountain blue for the blue one — cast off loosely in rib. The sleeves are sewn into the armholes from the right side, and the sweater is rinsed and laid flat to dry.

Design: Védís Jónsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 25 (no. 4), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi25-strax-2_3078f47c-89b6-467e-b660-5db207d5869a.jpg?v=1791000623
