It closes with a two-way zip from hem to collar — the yoke is knitted in the round and cut open at the front for it. The pattern has two colour versions, in sizes S, M and L: blue, sapphire blue with a yoke in midnight blue, fuchsia, golden, amber and chartreuse, and white, with a yoke in white and grey. Sapphire blue (9968), the blue version’s main colour, is no longer made; every other colour in the pattern still is.

What you get

The knitting pattern in English (PDF), emailed right after purchase — nothing is posted

Two colour versions — blue and white

Sizes S, M and L

The yoke chart, with a key for both versions, and the two cable charts

Yarn and needles are not included. Decreases at the sides, on both sides of the two side cables (our reading), 12 times in all, narrow the cape from 216 (228, 240) to 168 (180, 192) stitches, and at 8 (9, 9) cm two arm slits are set on the fronts, edged in moss stitch and 15 cm long. At 35 (37, 39) cm, 2 stitches are cast on at the front and the yoke is knitted in the round from a 35-round chart with four decrease rounds, down to 59 (63, 67) stitches — in the blue version, bands of zigzags and small motifs in midnight blue, fuchsia, golden, amber and chartreuse, with three rounds of sapphire blue; in the white version, white and grey. The neckband is K1, P1 rib on 4.5 mm, knitted back and forth and folded in half to the inside — amber inside in the blue version, white inside and out in the white. Finally the 2 front stitches are machine-sewn and cut open, and a two-way zip is sewn in with matching thread from the hem to the collar.

Design: Védís Jónsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 28 (no. 7), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi28-rosn-1_f7044898-724e-4a98-88fe-5ba7df0621f3.jpg?v=1791006912
