The centre is intarsia from a large chart: bands of colour that cross over and under each other, each outlined in ecru, in golden, amber, ruby red, fuchsia, sapphire blue, teal, chartreuse green, cypress green and black tweed. A wide ecru moss-stitch border is knitted at the same time. One version, one size. Sapphire blue heather (9968) is no longer made; the other nine colours still are.

What you get

The knitting pattern in English (PDF), emailed right after purchase — nothing is posted

One size, 80 × 140 cm

The chart over two pages, with a colour key

Yarn and needles are not included. Cast on 104 stitches in the main colour — ecru heather, by our reading, as the pattern does not name it — and knit 16 rows of moss stitch. From row 17 the centre 82 stitches follow the chart in stocking stitch, in intarsia: each colour area is knitted from its own small ball, and the yarns are twisted round each other at every colour change so no holes form. The first and last 11 stitches of every row stay in moss stitch, so the border grows with the blanket — by our reading each side needs its own ball of ecru. After the last chart row come 16 more rows of moss stitch; then cast off and weave in all the ends.

Design: Védís Jónsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 24 (no. 19), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi24-ravenna-1_b9ae4940-d796-482f-a60d-1c4b0933d57e.jpg?v=1790999652
