Ásta Guðrún Jóhannsdóttir’s round-yoke pullover from Ístex’s Lopi 31, knitted in the round from the bottom up in one colour of Álafosslopi. The whole sweater, hem, cuffs and yoke included, is one 8-round texture of knit and purl: two rounds of K1, P1, a knit round and a purl round, then the same again shifted by one stitch — rows of small offset blocks between purl ridges, like brickwork. There is no rib anywhere; the neck ends with a purl round and a loose bind-off. One colour version, five sizes from XS to XL. The pattern’s only colour, green moss (9985), is no longer made.

What you get

The knitting pattern in English (PDF), emailed right after purchase — nothing is posted

Five sizes, XS to XL

The 8-round texture written out round by round — there are no charts

Yarn and needles are not included. There is no rib — the body and sleeves go straight into the texture from the cast-on. The body is cast on with 122 (130, 138, 146, 154) stitches and knitted to 42 (44, 46, 48, 50) cm, ending on round 2 or 6. The sleeves are cast on with 34 (36, 38, 42, 44) stitches on double-pointed needles, knitted for 8 cm, then increased 2 stitches in the next knit round and every 8th round after, 8 (8, 8, 9, 9) times in all, to 50 (52, 54, 60, 62) stitches, and knitted to 50 (52, 52, 53, 54) cm. Body and sleeves are joined on the longer circular — 190 (194, 206, 218, 230) stitches — and the yoke carries on in the texture for two repeats (16 rounds) before seven decrease rounds, spread evenly over the round, take it down to 52 (56, 60, 64, 68) stitches. The neck is one purl round and a loose bind-off. The underarm stitches are grafted, and the sweater is rinsed by hand and laid flat to dry.

Design: Ásta Guðrún Jóhannsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 31 (no. 25), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi31-mur-1_56881e2b-1925-4886-9fed-8eac62238270.jpg?v=1790999173
