Six of the pattern’s seven colours are no longer made, so this kit has replacements: 9962 ruby red heather for the fire tweed (9738), 1231 garden green for the grass (9301), 1233 space blue for the aquamarine (9214), 9964 golden heather for the goldenrod (9213), 9971 amber heather for the copper (9384) and 1240 dark magenta for the bright fuchsia (9010). Only the midnight blue (0709) is the pattern’s own. The sleeves start the same way on 5 mm double-pointed needles; on 6 mm comes an 18-round border of midnight blue zigzags with narrow bands of the five bright colours, then red to the underarm. Body and sleeves are joined for the round yoke — a 41-round chart with four decrease rounds: a midnight blue zigzag rising from the red, then small zigzags, dots, arches and diamonds in which no round uses more than midnight blue and one bright colour, band after band up to the neck. The smaller sizes skip a few rounds. The collar is 8.5 cm of K1, P1 rib in red on 4.5 mm double-pointed needles, cast off loosely in rib and not folded, so it stands up.
