The body is cast on with 92 (96, 102, 108, 112) stitches in M on the 4.5 mm circular, worked in K1, P1 rib for 5 (5, 5, 5, 6) cm and increased to 102 (108, 114, 120, 126). On 6 mm comes a 7-round border from chart 1 — light denim and copper with navy points above — then the body goes on in M to 25 (28, 30, 33, 36) cm. The sleeves are cast on with 24 (24, 26, 26, 28) stitches on 4.5 mm double-pointed needles, ribbed, increased to 36 (36, 36, 36, 42), and knitted on 6 mm double-pointed needles: the same border, then M, increased to 44 (46, 48, 50, 52) stitches. Body and sleeves are joined for the round yoke — 156 (168, 174, 186, 198) stitches — and a 35-round chart with four decrease rounds takes it down to 52 (56, 58, 62, 66): a band of light denim diamonds with copper centres, outlined in navy, a small zigzag, a row of small copper crosses, a second small zigzag, and navy and light denim spikes rising to the neck. The smaller sizes leave out marked rounds, and the top of the yoke moves onto the double-pointed needles. The neckband is knitted one round in M on 4.5 mm double-pointed needles, then K1, P1 rib for 7 (7, 7, 8, 8) cm, decreased on its first rib round to 50 (50, 50, 52, 52) stitches; it is cast off loosely, folded in half to the inside and slip-stitched, and the underarm stitches are grafted.

Design: Astrid Ellingsen — pattern from Lopi No. 18 (no. 30), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi18-30-1_9fb127f8-6935-418a-98e3-6fda8bbb1f40.jpg?v=1791006401
