The body is cast on with 116 (130, 146) stitches on the 4.5 mm circular. Design 22: 6 (6, 7) cm of K1, P1 rib in dark gray. Design 23: cast on in navy and purl 2 rounds, then change to monet, knit 1 round and work K1, P1 rib until it measures 6 (6, 7) cm. Both are increased to 126 (144, 162) stitches. On 6 mm comes a 10-round border of diagonal lines and small trees from chart 1, in white or navy, then the body goes on in the main colour to 38 (42, 44) cm. The sleeves are cast on with 28 (30, 32) stitches on 4.5 mm double-pointed needles (in dark gray for Design 22, in navy for Design 23) and ribbed as the body, increased to 40 (42, 48), given the same border on 6 mm, with an increase at each end of its last round, and then increased every 8th round for women or every 9th for men to 52 (56, 62) stitches. Body and sleeves are joined for the round yoke, 198 (216, 234) stitches — in size XL 8 stitches are decreased as they are joined — and the yoke is knitted from a 43-round chart of large pointed shapes, zigzags and small diamonds with six decrease rounds, to 66 (72, 78); sizes XS and M leave out marked rounds. The neckband is knitted on 4.5 mm double-pointed needles and decreased to 54 (54, 58) stitches on its first round: Design 22, 8 cm of K1, P1 rib in dark gray; Design 23, 7 rounds of rib in monet, then in navy 1 round knit, 3 rounds purl and 9 rounds of rib. It is folded in half to the inside and slip-stitched — on Design 23 the navy purl rounds make the top edge — and the underarm stitches are grafted.

Design: Arnþrúður Ösp Karlsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 18 (nos. 22 and 23), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi18-22-1_e5fe16f2-d407-4056-924a-789191d4ba9b.jpg?v=1791005532
