One leaflet, two pattern numbers: Design 18 is light denim heather with white, dark denim heather and navy, and Design 19 is gray fleck, a grey tweed with small coloured flecks, with black sheep, ash and light beige — the same instructions, charts and amounts, with a colour key for each. The yoke has a zigzag, a band of slanting leaves, a solid band, triangles and long spikes rising to a folded neckband, and a matching zigzag sits above the ribbed hem and cuffs. Design 18’s colours are all still made; in Design 19, gray fleck (0042) and ash (9364) are no longer made.

What you get

The knitting pattern in English (PDF), emailed right after purchase — nothing is posted

Both pattern numbers — Design 18 in light blue and Design 19 in grey

Five sizes, XS to XL

Sleeve lengths for women and for men

Two charts — the border above the hem and cuffs, and the yoke — with a colour key for each design

Yarn and needles are not included. The body is cast on with 116 (122, 130, 136, 144) stitches in A on the 4.5 mm circular: 2 rounds of K1, P1 rib in A, then C, knitted one round and ribbed to 6 (6, 6, 7, 7) cm, and increased to 128 (136, 144, 152, 160) stitches. On 6 mm comes an 8-round border from chart 1 — a zigzag in A over a band of B — then the body goes on in M to 38 (40, 42, 43, 44) cm. The sleeves start the same way on 4.5 mm double-pointed needles, get the same border, and are increased every 8th round for women or every 9th for men, to 52 (54, 56, 60, 62) stitches. Body and sleeves are joined for the round yoke — 200 (208, 216, 232, 240) stitches — and a 43-round chart with five decrease rounds takes it down to 75 (78, 81, 87, 90): a zigzag in A, a band of A slanting leaves on B, a band of C, A triangles on M, and A spikes rising to the neck with B and C between them; the smaller sizes leave out marked rounds. The neckband is knitted one round and ribbed one round in A on 4.5 mm double-pointed needles, decreased to 54 (54, 54, 56, 58) stitches, then C is knitted one round and ribbed until the neckband measures 8 cm. It is cast off loosely, folded in half to the inside and slip-stitched, and the underarm stitches are grafted.

Design: Védís Jónsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 18 (nos. 18 and 19), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi18-18-1_54a50c14-312f-4abf-b787-e08e82f51c10.jpg?v=1791006101
