The body is then knitted in the round on 6 mm, with 2 purl stitches cast on at the centre front: a 7-round border from chart 1 — small black diamonds on golden green between two vanilla lines — then dark sienna to 38 (40, 42, 43, 44) cm. The sleeves are knitted in the round from a ribbed cuff, get the same border on 6 mm, and are increased every 8th round for women or every 9th for men, to 52 (54, 56, 60, 62) stitches. Body and sleeves are joined for the round yoke — 201 (207, 213, 231, 237) stitches — and a 43-round chart with four decrease rounds takes it down to 69 (71, 73, 79, 81); the smaller sizes leave out marked rounds. Two rows of machine stitching go into each purl stitch up the front, and the front is cut open between them once the button band is knitted. The 8-stitch ribbed front bands are knitted from the held stitches with a 3-stitch stocking-stitch facing that folds over the cut edge, and sewn on. The neckband is knitted back and forth across the bands and the yoke: a 6-row band from chart 3 — a vanilla line, three rows of small black diamonds on golden green, a vanilla line and a row of dark sienna — with the top buttonhole in the band rib, then a dark sienna facing folded to the inside along a purl fold line and slip-stitched. The underarm stitches are grafted.

Design: Guðrún Sveinsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 18 (no. 15), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi18-15-cover-1_2cd646ea-68bf-4d12-9c42-c801cea157ac.jpg?v=1791000272
