One leaflet, two pattern numbers: Design 12 is crimson with a yoke of stacked zigzags in iris, grass and goldenrod — purple, green and yellow — with purple ribs and neckband; Design 13 is white with zigzags in oatmeal, acorn and black sheep and a rib striped in black sheep and acorn. Both have the same instructions, charts and size, with a colour key for each, a narrow border of small points above the rib at the hem and cuffs, and a short opening at the neck that closes with one button. One size, chest 40 cm — for a doll about 18 inches (46 cm) tall, by our estimate from the photos. In Design 12, iris (9440), grass (9444) and goldenrod (9435) are no longer made; Design 13’s colours are all still made.

What you get

The knitting pattern in English (PDF), emailed right after purchase — nothing is posted

Both pattern numbers — Design 12 in crimson and Design 13 in white

One size, for a doll — chest 40 cm

Two charts — the border above the rib and the yoke — with a colour key for each design

Yarn and needles are not included. The body is cast on with 72 stitches and each sleeve with 18 on 3¾ mm, for 3 rounds of K1, P1 rib — all in A for Design 12; for Design 13 cast on in C and striped 1 round C, 2 rounds B. On 5 mm comes a 3-round border of small points from chart 1, then stocking stitch in M: the body to 11 cm, the sleeves increased to 24 stitches and knitted to 10 cm. Body and sleeves are joined, 96 stitches, for the round yoke: a 12-round chart of zigzags in A, B and C on M, with small columns of A up to the neck and four decrease rounds, down to 32 stitches. The neckband is knitted back and forth on 3¾ mm — 1 knit row and 3 rows of K1, P1 rib in A for Design 12; 1 knit row and 2 rib rows in A, then 1 rib row and the cast-off in C, for Design 13 — so it leaves a short opening, closed with a button and a loop of 8 crocheted chains on the left side. The underarm stitches are grafted, and the loose strands inside the sleeve border are tacked down with M.

Design: Védís Jónsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 18 (nos. 12 and 13), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi18-12-cover-1_839b8d6c-7d94-4c5e-a8bc-6659f5bef61c.jpg?v=1791005681
