In the photo it is a dark olive green, with a deep yoke of pale grey scallops and honeycomb shapes filled with khaki and dark green, the same small border above the rib at the hem and cuffs, and a folded neckband. The same leaflet has a plain hat with a rolled edge and a pair of fingerless gloves, both in the main colour. The leaflet prints only the colour numbers: the pale grey (0054) is still made, but both greens — 9239 and 9240, loden green and golden green in Ístex’s Lopi 18 leaflets — are not.

What you get

The knitting pattern in English (PDF), emailed right after purchase — nothing is posted

Five sizes, XS to XL

Sleeve lengths for women and for men

The hat in two sizes and the fingerless gloves in three

Two charts — the border above the hem and cuffs, and the yoke

Yarn and needles are not included. The body is cast on with 118 (124, 130, 136, 140) stitches in M on the 4.5 mm circular for 6 (6, 6, 7, 7) cm of K1, P1 rib, then increased to 132 (138, 144, 150, 156) on 6 mm. A 10-round border from chart 1 in all three colours comes next, then the body goes on in M to 38 (40, 42, 43, 44) cm. The sleeves start with the same rib on 4.5 mm double-pointed needles, get the same border on 6 mm, and are increased every 7th round for women or every 8th for men, to 54 (56, 58, 62, 64) stitches. Body and sleeves are joined for the round yoke — a 43-round chart in all three colours with five decrease rounds, from 200 (208, 216, 232, 240) stitches to 75 (78, 81, 87, 90); the smaller sizes leave out marked rounds. The neckband is 8 cm of K1, P1 rib on 4.5 mm double-pointed needles, folded in half to the inside and slip-stitched, and the underarms are grafted. The hat is stocking stitch in the round on 6 mm double-pointed needles from 63 (66) stitches, with no rib — its edge rolls up — and a crown decreased in three steps and drawn together. The fingerless gloves start with 7 cm of K1, P1 rib on 4.5 mm and go on in stocking stitch on 6 mm; the thumb opening is knitted with a scrap of contrast yarn — at the start of the round on the right glove, just before the halfway marker on the left — and each glove ends with 3 rounds of rib. For the thumb, the contrast yarn is pulled out, 12 (12, 14) stitches are picked up round the opening, and the thumb is knitted for 5 (5, 6) rounds and finished with 2 rounds of rib.

Design: Guðrún Jónsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 12 (no. 9), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi12-09-1_97ab4699-17d8-4137-9c36-33c49db9a9a0.jpg?v=1791000520
https://icelandicstore.is/products/lopi-12-no-9-dark-green-yoke-sweater-hat-and-fingerless-gloves-knitting-pattern
