The yoke has a white zigzag, dark diamonds, white spikes with a red or brown stripe across them and a band of red or brown and black near the neck; a dark and white border sits above the ribbed hem and cuffs, and the neckband is folded double. The stocking hat is given in the No. 32 colours. The sleeves are cast on with 26 (26, 28, 28) stitches on 4.5 mm double-pointed needles, ribbed for 5 (6, 6, 6) cm, increased to 38 (38, 40, 40) on 6 mm, given the same border, and increased every 7th round to 48 (50, 52, 54) stitches; in sizes 134 and 140 the border does not fit the sleeve stitches — the pattern says so itself. Body and sleeves are joined for the round yoke — 170 (180, 190, 200) stitches — and a 37-round chart with three decrease rounds takes it down to 68 (72, 76, 80); the smaller sizes leave out marked rounds. The neckband is decreased to 52 (52, 54, 54) stitches and knitted in K1, P1 rib in M on 4.5 mm double-pointed needles for 7 (8, 8, 8) cm, cast off loosely, folded in half to the inside and slip-stitched; the underarm stitches are grafted. The stocking hat is cast on with 62 stitches in M on the 4.5 mm circular: 8 cm of K1, P1 rib, then stocking stitch on 6 mm until it is 50 cm from the cast-on edge, and cast off.
