In the photo it is a bright blue, with a yoke of small white flowers framed in a darker blue, a border of dark zigzags and white dots above the rib at the hem and cuffs, and dark blue rib at the hem, cuffs and folded neckband. The same leaflet has a plain hat with a rolled edge in the darker blue. The leaflet prints only the colour numbers: the white (0051) is still made, but both blues are not — 9303, cornflower in Ístex’s Lopi 18 leaflets, and 9304, for which we have found no name.

What you get

The knitting pattern in English (PDF), emailed right after purchase — nothing is posted

Four sizes, to fit 110 to 140 cm tall

The matching hat, in two sizes

Two charts — the border above the hem and cuffs, and the yoke

Yarn and needles are not included. The body is cast on with 92 (96, 102, 108) stitches in A on the 4.5 mm circular for 5 (5, 5, 6) cm of K1, P1 rib, then increased to 102 (108, 114, 120) on 6 mm. A 6-round border from chart 1 in all three colours comes next, then the body goes on in M to 25 (27, 30, 33) cm. The sleeves start with the same rib in A on 4.5 mm double-pointed needles, get the same border on 6 mm, and are increased every 7th round to 44 (46, 48, 50) stitches. Body and sleeves are joined for the round yoke — a 33-round chart in all three colours with four decrease rounds, from 156 (168, 174, 186) stitches to 52 (56, 58, 62); the smaller sizes leave out marked rounds. The neckband is 7 (7, 7, 8) cm of K1, P1 rib in A on 4.5 mm double-pointed needles, folded in half to the inside and slip-stitched, and the underarms are grafted. The hat is stocking stitch in 9304 on 6 mm double-pointed needles from 60 (63) stitches, with no rib — its edge rolls up — and a crown decreased in three steps and drawn together.

Design: Astrid Ellingsen — pattern from Lopi No. 12 (no. 25), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi12-25-1_256fade2-6039-4d85-adab-0764abf531b9.jpg?v=1791000554
https://icelandicstore.is/products/lopi-12-no-25-childrens-blue-yoke-sweater-and-hat-knitting-pattern
