The yoke is a 36-round chart: a spring green band, a row of small four-legged animals on white, blue bands with white dots, and a turquoise band with white blocks. Two versions with the same amounts, in six sizes from 1–2 to 8 — green, pine green with brown animals, and red, crimson red with black animals. The green version’s brown, hazel (1401), is no longer made; every other colour still is.

What you get

The knitting pattern in English (PDF), emailed right after purchase — nothing is posted

Two colour versions — green and red

Six sizes, 1–2 to 8

Two charts — the yoke and the band on the neckband — with one colour key for both versions

Yarn and needles are not included. The body is cast on with 107 (115, 123, 131, 139, 147) stitches on 3.5 mm; 4 rows of stocking stitch and a purl row for the fold line are knitted back and forth, then the body is joined in the round for 5 rounds and goes on in stocking stitch on 4.5 mm to 20 (22, 24, 26, 28, 30) cm from the purl row. The sleeves start with the same folded edge, knitted in the round on double-pointed needles, and are increased 6 (6, 6, 7, 7, 8) times. Body and sleeves are joined for the round yoke, 171 (179, 187, 195, 203, 211) stitches: a 36-round chart in seven colours, never more than two in a round, with five decrease rounds down to 67 (70, 73, 76, 79, 82) stitches; the smaller sizes leave out marked rounds, and the 4 stitches at the front are not decreased. The neckband, on 3.5 mm, is a decrease round and a 7-round band from chart 2 — spring green with dots in colour C between rounds of A — then a purl ridge and 5 rows of stocking stitch knitted back and forth. To finish, the underarms are grafted, two rows of small machine stitches are sewn into each front purl stitch and the front is cut open between them, and the zip is sewn in by hand under the folded front edge. The neckband is folded to the inside over the end of the zip, and the hems are folded along the purl row and slip-stitched.

Design: Védís Jónsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 25 (no. 8), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi25-lappi-1_23fb6221-527b-4f5f-9ee4-f8e95558c24e.jpg?v=1790998692
