The pattern has two colour versions with the same amounts, in sizes 1 to 4 years: purple — violet with lilac flowers and edges — and red — garnet red with light red flowers and edges. Lilac (1413) and light red (1408) are no longer made; the other colours in the pattern still are.

What you get

The knitting pattern in English (PDF), emailed right after purchase — nothing is posted

Two colour versions — purple and red

Sizes 1, 1½, 2, 3 and 4 years

Three charts — the body border, the sleeve border and the yoke — with a colour key for both versions

Yarn and needles are not included. The pattern also suggests elastic thread for a snugger neckline (optional).

How it is knitted
Body and sleeves are knitted in the round from the bottom up. Each starts with a folded picot hem in colour B — lilac for the purple version, light red for the red — on 3.5 mm needles: the body with 4 rows of stocking stitch knitted back and forth, a picot row (k2tog, yo) and 5 rounds, each sleeve with 4 rounds, a picot round and 5 rounds. On the body, 2 purl stitches are cast on at the front for the steek and the work is joined. On 4.5 mm needles a 10-round border of little flowers follows on the body and a 7-round border on the sleeves. The rest of the body and sleeves is in the main colour, A: the body is narrowed by 6 stitches twice on the way up, from 110 (116, 122, 128, 134) stitches to 98 (104, 110, 116, 122), and the sleeves are increased towards the underarm. Body and sleeves are joined for the round yoke: a 30-round chart with a white band of little flowers and green dots between zigzags, with four decrease rounds, from 164 (170, 176, 182, 188) stitches to 57 (59, 61, 63, 65); the smaller sizes leave out marked rounds. The neckband is another picot edge in B on 3.5 mm: 3 rounds, a picot row and 3 rows knitted back and forth. The hems are folded to the inside and slip-stitched down, the underarms are grafted, and the front is machine-sewn twice through each chain of purl stitches and cut open. Both fronts get 2 rows of single crochet in B, with 5 chain button loops on the right front.

Design: Védís Jónsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 29 (no. 4), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi29-knupur-cover-1_1e8e0dd2-a2e3-489b-9915-962bde9b8069.jpg?v=1791006318
