Guðrún Ragna Sigurjónsdóttir’s pullover for children from Ístex’s Lopi 30 is knitted in Léttlopi from the neck down: a garter-stitch yoke worked back and forth, with raglan lines of yarn overs and an opening at the back closed with three buttons, then a stocking-stitch body and sleeves knitted in the round, with garter ridges at the hem and cuffs. The pattern has two versions — one colour, barley, and two-tone, dark grey with the yoke striped in light grey — in sizes 2 to 8 years. The yoke is cast on with 56 (59, 60, 64) stitches on 4.5 mm and knitted back and forth in garter stitch, with an opening at the centre back; on every right-side row a yarn over either side of a purled stitch at the four raglan lines adds 8 stitches, 16 (17, 18, 18) times, to 184 (195, 204, 208). In the two-tone version the yoke is striped: after 3 rows of dark grey, 2 rows of light grey, 2 rows of dark grey and so on. The sleeve stitches go on waste yarn, stitches are cast on at the underarms and 3 more at the back, and the body is joined and knitted in the round in stocking stitch to 21 (23, 27, 33) cm from the underarm, then 5 rounds on 3.5 mm — purl, knit, purl, knit, purl — and bound off. The sleeves are picked up with 4 (4, 6, 6) more stitches at the underarm, knitted in the round on 4.5 mm, decreased every 6th round and finished with the same garter-ridge cuff on 3.5 mm. Last, garter borders are picked up along both sides of the back opening on 3.5 mm, one with three buttonholes; it is laid over the other and sewn down at the bottom.

Design: Guðrún Ragna Sigurjónsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 30 (no. 6), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi30-kjarr-1_b125693d-4253-4ea0-abee-602e4cb68a0e.jpg?v=1791006856
