The cable pattern is stocking stitch with 4-over-4 cable crosses — one to the left and one to the right in every 12 rows of a 20-stitch repeat. The back is cast on with 92 (98, 106) stitches on 6.5 mm: 3 rows of stocking stitch, a row knitted on the wrong side as a fold line, 2 more rows, then chart 1 to 36 (37, 38) cm from the fold line; the armholes and the neck are shaped and the shoulders bound off in steps. Each front is cast on with 48 (52, 56) stitches, with the same fold line after 3 rows; then 6 stitches are cast on at the front edge for a facing, which folds inside behind a 6-stitch textured border (purl 1, knit 1, purl 3, knit 1), and the cables cover the other 42 (46, 50) stitches. The sleeves are knitted in the round: 35 (35, 37) stitches, 4 rounds of K1, P1 rib on 5.5 mm, then purl-3, knit-1 rib on 7 mm to 26 cm, with two increase rounds after 19 cm; then 33 (37, 37) stitches are added in one round, to 72 (76, 78), the upper sleeve is cabled from chart 2 to 51 (53, 54) cm, and the cap is shaped back and forth. The shoulders are sewn from the right side, and 92 stitches are picked up round the neck for the collar, which is cabled through chart 2 six times, bound off, folded in half to the inside and stitched down. The borders are folded in and stitched down, the press studs are fixed to two ribbons sewn onto the borders, and the side seams and sleeves are sewn from the right side.

Design: Guðrún Ragna Sigurjónsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 31 (no. 21), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi31-kadlastadir-1_444f14ae-f8a1-4efc-aa07-bc177b138eed.jpg?v=1791015041
